Editorial Review:
Product Description: With his seven legal thrillers, all published since 1989, John Grisham has won a huge following of readers and set a standard few contributors to the genre can match. Because of the success of his novels, the legal thriller is the most popular genre in American fiction today. In this study, Pringle explains how Grisham's legal thriller evolved from the thriller tradition and borrowed from the heroic romance novel, gothic novel, crime novel, and detective fiction. She shows how his novels examine contemporary social and legal problems that do not have simple solutions--ecology, ethnic relations, capital punishment, corporate greed, and health insurance--and how he depicts both the legal system and lawyers in their best and worst lights.

This book isn't even written by Grisham! I thought the purpose is to review the book, not the price, and you didn't even purchase it.

How can you be selling this book on Kindle, when you don't even have any of Grisham's available ??? Am looking for his newest book, esp., but absolutely none of his books are there for download.
Seems to me you are putting the expensive cart before the horse.... Why would you have a critique on the novels that are not in your download system??
Am really disappointed,
Claire G.

No way I will pay $36 for a book that I cannot even lend to friends.
Gresham better get his feet on the ground fast, and price reasonably. He is not that good that he can price to the sky and expect much.
In the meantime there are armies of good authors who are cranking out excellent works, many offered in Kindle. And many books in Amazon's used department at very attractive prices.

Mary Beth Pringle does an good job at capturing the style and format behind John Grisham's fiction. However, her feminist training and backgroud tend to impact her objectivity. Although she attempts to give an "alternative critical perspective" on each of his novels, she seems to give her analysis, from a feminist perspective, throughout the book. Her feminist views take away from the overall quality of her work. Otherwise, it is a fair analysis of Grisham.

Dr. Pringle is an interesting and informative author. Whenever I read Grisham, I have a copy of her book right next to me. If you like Grisham, Pringle's view on his books is second to none. Get this book!
