I purchased the Coleman Folding Shovel and Pick to take with me to Haiti. I knew this would come in handy for digging latrines etc. The equipment is easy to assemble and use in moderate to rocky soils.

This is an ok little shovel and pick. We bought it to put in our sons hunting backpacks. They are 13 and 15 and have really enjoyed them. They are not as durable as we would have liked them to be.

any review that speaks of this shovel/pick being small, as a negative, clearly doesn't understand this is for backpacking. small, compact, enough weight to trust the durability. it's the best backpacking shovel i could hope to find. good price too.

Don't waist your money. Its junk. Find yourself a Military folding shovel, and I don't mean a "Military type made in china". It will serve you much better for much longer.

This little shovel is perfect for digging your latrine but don't expect to move mountains with it. Also the spade is about the size of my hand so don't expect your latrine to be very big.
