I purchased this because the price seemed very nice for a 15" survival/gutting knife even though it didn't say the grade of steel. I found on another site that it's 440. PS: It's even cheaper elsewhere.
Unfortunately there are two things I'm suspicious of: first of all, even on the other site I couldn't find out whether it's 440A or 440C, which makes a huge difference in long term durability.

I bought this knife when it was around $15. I'm no knife expert but it seems very solid and sturdy. It came out of the box sharp and clean. The sheath does seem a little cheap, but that's to be expected for such a low price. All in all, it is a good knife for a very reasonable price.

I wouldn't stake my life on the construction of this knife, (after all, the price was pretty low) but it's ok for camping and messing around.

I see a lot of positive and negative comments (mostly negative) on this knife but neither the ad nor one review mentions where the knife is manufactured. Any knife made in Mexico, Japan, China, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, or anywhere else other than the U.S., are completely worthless and DO NOT hold up.
