I rented this game knowing how bad movie tie-in games can be. First off this game started off not too bad, till I got to the second stage called "thank heavens" Yeah right!! When you "take cover" you still get hit 40 percent of the time which is very annoying and you just end up dying so fast. And you better hope that you don't die almost finishing a section, because you'll be starting all over to the first glitch of the section. The "Machines" got stuck in the wall in one point so many times, that I was about to break the game in two. It's not like you can just go on without killing the machine in the wall, because you will be leaving the fight zone and die anyway. This game had so much potential if it wasn't for the glitches! If the glitches wasn't there the game would be a 7 at least in my opinion. So in short it's worth a rent, or a cheap price, but only if you can get past some major glitches. OH yeah, and when you die, you just can't start over, but have to wait to load for like 2 min. And the sound makes some crackling noise too. UPDATE!!! I Just finished the game on HARD, and you get all the trophies! Even tho i did hate the game so much at times, I kept playing it over and over. Because well, it was actually fun. It reminded me of being a kid again, trying to stay calm, because it's just a game. I hate to admit it, but I did like the game, and kinda wanna play it again,, but I'm not. Too many other games out there, LOL

I feel as if I'm being very generous giving this game 3 stars. If a 2 1/2 option was available, that'd be the rating I'd go for. The game was just plain dull and redundant after awhile. There were about 4 different enemies in total, and they weren't all that complex and difficult to defeat. What happened to the T-1's? They'd be an interesting foe in this game. The game itself gives an interesting backstory on how Connor met Barnes and Blair Williams. But that's about it. The image of John Connor didn't even look like Christian Bale or even had his voice. That'd been a nice touch, too bad.
I also noticed the graphics were sub par. This game was obviously created in a rush to be released at the same time as the film. When an area is covered in darkness/shadows it's just pure black. There is no depth or gray areas, it's just pure black, as if there is no information there which is most likely the case. At certain points, the graphics seemed like more PS2 quality rather than PS3.
I'd recommend this to only die hard fans of the Terminator universe and also mention that they should only rent it, not purchase it.

I liked this game it was based upon but didn't follow the movie Terminator Salvation. Salvation took place in 2018 this took place in 2016 it does tie into the movie with the fact it tells how Barnes joined the Resistance your in the role of John Connor the story is about some Resistance soldiers that are pinned down by Skynet so you disobey orders to go rescue them eventually you get a team to help you Blair Willams Angie Salter & more join you. You fight HK's Terminators with the rubber skin known as skin jobs & T7T or spiders as they are called. Aside from not following Salvation's storyline the actors & actresses didn't do voice overs for the game & Angie & Blair are annoying they'll almost drive you nuts. It's a good game but being able to beat it in 5-7 hours really kills replay value. So I wouldn't buy it unless your a fan of the Terminator series like I'am don't hesitate to but honesty you should wait till its $20-$30.
